Bat Could Talk

The Kid was a brat

and he had a bat

 bat loved to talk and

to hit a good knock.

Bat hated the ball

for it  would crawl

 if the Kid would play

all through the day.

Stumps loved to chatter

they thought it better

 to rest under a bed

 than to stand on head.

 The bat and the ball

and stumps near the wall

 liked serious discussion

and an occasional brawl.

 They didn’t cross limit

the Kid wouldn’t permit

they could not  error

for  the Kid was a terror.

 If the Kid got annoyed

 they couldn’t avoid

punishment he gave

to make them behave.
