Crow and
Crab
Crow and crab
both tried to grab
a fish lying in sand
that fell from hand
of a little fisherman
while boarding a van.
Crab made the hit
crow tried to snatch it
there a quarrel started
they kicked and thwarted
fish got trampled
for bits they scrambled.
Old owl heard a cry
he could only sigh
crow had a stab
crab had lost an eye
both were hurt
both began to cry.
Old owl was wise
felt sad as they cried
but he did advise,
“This fish was a prize
you could’ve shared
only if you had cared.”
“You were both foolish
you were both inane
only if you were kind
and if you were sane
fish you could’ve shared
and not suffered this pain”
Crow and crab
were hurt and sad
what they had done
was foolish and bad
they could only cry
they could not be glad.
